CAMPERVAN RECIPES: A Taste of Spain

When I worked and lived on a charter yacht in Barcelona harbour many years ago, I fell in love with everything Spanish, including the cuisine. So when I got the chance to do a ‘Taste of Spain’ cookery course at Vaughan’s Cookery School, I jumped at the chance and hoped that there would be some ideas I could adapt for campervan recipes. There was –  the flavours are a bit different but very tasty…

CAMPERVAN DAYS OUT: Wasabi, Smartphone Food and a Strange Incident

Last weekend Glyn and I had a fantastic time at the Abergavenny Food Festival in Wales. This festival happens every year in September and is a bit like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival except that, instead of the town being covered in comedy, it is covered in FOOD! We ate LOTS of good food and bought foodie items from some great local producers but there was a strange incident that still remains a mystery…

CAMPERVAN RECIPES: Sweet and Sour Chicken Kebabs

Another great recipe from Kim at Kim’s Cravings! These Sweet and Sour Chicken Kebabs look really easy and tasty as well as nutritious. In fact so quick and easy it is the sort of thing you could throw together for a weeknight, ‘sponny’* BBQ in the garden after work on a warm evening.

*’Sponny’ is the word my New Zealand friend uses to describe anything spontaneous and fun.

CAMPERVAN RECIPES: More-ish Lamb Burgers from Moor-ish Dartmoor (sorry..)

We are not long back from a magical weekend on Dartmoor in Devon which is one of my favourite places to camp and explore. As it turned out it made 2 meals for us: some gorgeous healthy burgers and some meatballs for a pasta dish the next day…

Luscious Lunches: The Nicoise Power Bowl

I’m lucky in that part of my work-life includes cooking and eating food (it’s hard but someone has to do it!). When I am working at home I try to cook myself a lunch which let’s me try out ideas for my campervan cookbooks. Some are best forgotten but some turn out ‘luscious’ and I’d like to share this luscious one with you: ‘The Nicoise Power bowl’

Campervan Recipes: Oh No, it's a Dis-aaaster (or is it?)

Not a recipe for the campervan as it requires an oven but I thought I would try out a new recipe for baked apples the other day as we have a lot of them growing in our garden at the moment. Baked apples – nothing too difficult  – but when I took them out of the oven they looked like some sort of alien life-form! Oh no, a disaster I thought but when I tasted them I wasn’t so sure…and I learned some really important things…
